I’m sure you would agree with me when i say that abs are one of the most popular topics in conversations between people in the bodybuilding and fitness community as well as outside of it. The question now is how to get them, shape them and keep them?
When we talk about stomach area, a wise man once said:
“We all have abs, they just don’t show”
A quite accurate statement. The first thing we see covering them is body fat (% varies between each person) so no matter how hard you trained, if you don’t lower your body fat, you’ll never reach your desirable results. Beside training, a clean diet is a must but not the “Starvation Mode” kind, just the one where you cut off bread, candy, dough etc…or to put it simply – getting your carb intake to a minimum. To speed up the process of getting your abs to show, you’ll need to use food supplements such as fat burners. The main difference between fat burning supplements is their complexity and how strong their effect is on layers of fat. Depending on your current state and training dedication you should choose between these three types:
We defined what’s necessary to take regarding food and supplements, let’s slowly start talking about the training itself…
When it comes to abs training and fat loss, What gives the best results is cardio. It’s also ideal for warm-up. When i say cardio i mean primarily on running, riding a bike etc. It’s very important to get your heart rate up to a certain level and keep it there for some time. Sounds easy but it’s quite demanding and hard. After you’re done with cardio, you should continue your workout with classic ab exercises using only your bodyweight or include some machines. Abs are divided in two groups (upper/bottom) and side muscle groups. With this in mind, you should do your best to hit them from all possible angles. That can be done with:
- Leg Raises
- Ab Twists
- Ab Roller Wheel
I only listed three exercises that work best for me, there’s plenty more of course. Get creative. The important thing to know is that in order to get real results, abs exercises have to be done daily without excluding other muscle groups. You have to be persistent.
Also important – each one of us have genetically pre-determined shape and size of our abs, now i might crush your dream but there’s no way in hell that you can have the exact same abs like Arnold Schwarzenegger. It’s just not possible unless you’re related or if you’re lucky and get genetically similar shape, but they can never be 100% the same. So stop wishing for it and work with what you’ve got.
And one more thing…Don’t get fooled with the “6-pack shortcuts” and some bullshit weight loss ab vibrating belts that you wrap around your waist, lay on the couch and pray for the best results. That’s not how it works.
EAT CLEAN, TAKE REQUIRED SUPPLEMENTS AND TRAIN HARD!
